Lee Kirksey, MD presents a Tall Rounds on treatment of acute aortic dissection, a condition that requires a multidisciplinary rapid response treatment team.   A case presentation is followed by a presentations covering triage and management in the ICU, optimal imaging techniques,  of pathogenesis, presentation and medical management; diagnostic testing including echo, MRI and PET; new dissection classification guidelines from SVS/STS  and lessons learned by the International Registry of Acute Aortic Dissection (IRAD).  Next, treatment options are presented included open surgery, endovascular repair, and evolving strategies.  This is followed by a discussion of management issues in this patient population.
