The American College of Cardiology completed their
2021 scientific sessions, where many research teams presented trial results. Dr. Steve Nissen, Chief Academic Officer, Cleveland Clinic, presents summaries of three trials of interest:
Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion Study (LAAOS III), looking at LAA occlusion during cardiac surgery’s impact on risk of ischemic stroke;
ADAPTABLE (Aspirin Dosing: A Patient-Centric Trial Assessing Benefits and Long-Term Effectiveness), looking at right dose of aspirin for cardiovascular prophylaxis; and
Secondary Analysis of STRENGTH Trial, looking at EPA and DHA’s impact on cardiovascular risk.
