(the CRISP CT study) Dr. Milind Desai describes the findings of a post-hoc analysis of outcome data gathered prospectively from two independent cohorts of consecutive patients undergoing coronary CTA in Germany and at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. The results of this paper shows that a novel new biomarker found thorough coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA )—the perivascular fat attenuation index (FAI) - measures coronary inflammation, and enhances cardiac risk/mortality prediction. This type of testing could lead to clinical implications in guidance of care in the future. Learn more about this study at http://www.thelancet.com/
